so recently a position opened up at work -- shift manager -- and i was given said position. now my work schedule drastically changes and i now work the closing shift on weekends. hurrah. consequently, i have learned how to slice (for the most part) and this weekend sean will come help me with the closing procedures. once again, hurrah. ha in the past work week (wednesday-tuesday) i worked 44 hours +/- 2 hours. cons: me no sleepy. pros: money and fun with friends.
model un is starting back up again tonight and i am very excited. i really liked it last year, for the most part, and going to los angeles was, to say the least, amazing. yadda yadda, i'm excited.
well, the issue with hunger issues is that i don't know how to eat on a regular basis anymore, it seems. it's good when i work because then i at least eat one (sometimes two if i work two shifts) meals a day. OH, COLLEGE1!
college in general is not my cup of tea, it seems. if you'd like to know more on this i will tell you this, i dropped a class and now i'm a part-time student (technically). not so technically? i think i'm a full time student ten times over. harder classes should be worth double the credits. i mean, if there is more work involved. say, if i spend gobs of time outside of school doing work for school, or even just thinking about topics for my term papers... i should get more than 3 credits at the end of the semester.
rant, rant, rant.
it's funny talking about classic liberalism versus current day liberalism.
and that's all, folks.

job:
i like it. i have all of the sandwiches down, which is good, and i'm getting used to it. i got my first pay check yesterday, too!
apartment:
matt and i have found where we're going to live, more on that later or if you'd like to inquire about it to me personally i'll divulge some information, perhaps.
life:
is good. i'm happy.
story:
there's a blind man that i've seen at the bus stop a few times and he has a guitar with him. i cannot imagine not having sight and doing something like that.
i'm making cookies, so... ta-ta!

waking up early.
i didn't get my door all of the way shut last night and the dog came in and took up half of my bed. blargistan. good thing rhea didn't come in because she would have meowed my ear off!
matt and i went to the gyro stand last night downtown after taking grandma's birthday card to her with the jimmy john's free sandwich chips. anyway, at the gyro stand, this guy came up and asked us (obviously really intoxicated) if we read a lot and asked matt if he was really smart. this was after he complained about the price of a gyro (3 dollars and 50 cents...) and him and his friend both ordered a gyro. then after awhile he told us his name was todd and then they left and the gyro man told us that he's there every week and always complains about the price and finally just says he wants everything on it and pays for it.
but i know what i like most about the gyros, the hummus, feta cheese, and onion melt that happens. btw, the hummus on those things are freaking great. if you haven't had it, you must. it's amazing and spicy.

j-o-b
so, i got a job at jimmy johnz today. i start tomorrow, haha. at 10am and it will be weird. it took a lot for me to even think about working with meat ever. you know? but yeah, i should probably buy some new jeans since i only have one pair and can only wear jeans or khaki pants/shorts to work.
i don't like shorts so i'll just wear pants, it's nice to have a choice though... right?

oh yeah, worst thing ever
what has this world come to?! funniest things ever about the sex pistols experience:
you have to be over 25 (all of the sex pistols were under 25 when sid died)
you can't be in trouble with the law (how can you be the sex pistols experience and not be in trouble with the law)
you can't experiment with drugs (HA, that is just funny no matter what)
they say on the website that you have to like the music (hahahaahah too bad sex pistols experience is the worst!)
not nearly as newsworthy as lance bass coming out of the closet but still newsworthy enough, right? at least some sort of evergreen story! come on!

keep it coming, keep it fresh

so i'm catching up on my purchasing of books. bought invisible monsters by chuck palahniuk for chelsea and i read the first chapter or so before i started feeling weird about reading a book that i bought as a present for someone.
also bought some vonnegut (godbless you, mister rosewater and a man without a country) recently. i got 30 percent off of the vonnegut book and ended up paying about 17 dollars for a new copy at borders (hardcover).
i mainly really want to read a man without a country because of a review i read in the iowa state daily talking about how it was crap, how vonnegut is just a nonsensical old man and he's just writing for himself (duh, idiot, it's his memoirs...) every other review i read about it when it came out was a rave. i guess that is to be compared with my review of antics by interpol where i said that it wasn't worth buying because it was the first album again but with a few interesting points. funny, i downloaded their first album and even own it but haven't listened to it since probably grade 12.
watching old doctor who. matt's golden birthday is soon. hehehehe. finished the mighty boosh. probably the most off the wall show i've ever watched. it's nice being able to find out about these shows.
the 4th was supposed to be a spectacle because of the special olympics, it was kind of a catastrophe and kind of ruined my mood, i don't know why. i was really excited, too.
that's all i have in me right now.
the residents river of crime is reallllly sweeet. "the singing resident" sounds like garrison keillor, which i like. which reminds me of how i want to see that movie. is it out on dvd yet? hmm i don't know.
good day, mates.

ebay scam?
so i was looking at pearl items this morning and came across a few items at .10 GBP and so i was like 'uhh what? these are real pearls...' and clicked the item from this seller and found out that she charges outragous shipping charges to cover the price of the actual item. i.e. one person paid 162 pounds (at the time 304 dollars shipping) for a necklace.
who knew ebay could be so shady? ME. conductivemusic is just as shady in another way. if you remember, i ordered an item (the first annual report of throbbing gristle) from conductivemusic and they told me that they were backed up in shipping, when in reality they never had the item to begin with.
EBAY IS SHADY BUSINESS SOMETIMES :(
