today was my first day off this week. i love days off. i walked around downtown, made a pizza from papa murphy's watched janice beard 45 wpm and bushisms. it was pretty fun. then i went sledding with hannah and wally on the frolf course. whilst walking downtown i bought a hat.

i also bought a pair of shoes from browns at their sale.

all in all, an eventful day.
not having the internet is sometimes a drag but i still use it daily so it has been okay.

KITTY

i am adopting a beautiful 1 year old girl kitty currently dubbed Lucy.
i shall change her name IMMEDIATELY IF NOT SOONER to Jarboe -- lady singer from Swans.
on saturday night i am having a Zaireeka listening party and as the day grows near I am getting more and more stoked. it's been awhile since I've listened to Zaireeka.

in other news, i have tomorrow and friday off to play with the kitty that i will be picking up tomorrow. all in all, i am stoked.
and matt's finally finishing the Steps record!!!

vegan french toast? YUM

Banana French Toast

Ingredients:

• 1 large banana
• 1/4 cup any kind of milk (soy, rice, etc.)
• 1 tsp. cinnamon
• 6 slices of bread
• oil or cooking spray

Instructions:

Place all ingredients except bread and oil in a blender or food processor and mix until smooth. Pour mixture into a shallow bowl or pan. Heat a frying pan with oil or cooking spray. Dip each piece of bread, coating both sides. Cook each piece of bread on both sides, adding more oil to the pan between pieces. Eat!

wassail being the dictionary wotd on this here christmas eve, i found it incredibly appropriate when some fellow on livejournal linked to a group post in the metaquotes group (and for those of you too lazy to click the link, here is the tidbit: In the northern Europe of the late Middle Ages, gangs of young men would engage in ''wassailing,'' a cross between Christmas caroling and home invasion. The gangs would visit wealthy homes, often in disguise, and sing songs that threatened violence if they were not invited in for food and drink.

In agrarian societies, practices such as wassailing served as a critical safety valve, giving people at the bottom of the social ladder a release that would keep them in line during the rest of the year.

secondly, and probably most important... THE GIVER IS BEING MADE INTO A MOVIE!!! I have high expectations for anything involving that book so this better be amazing.

today after work i went to hastings to attempt to find a birthday present for erin, it's his 21st birthday party tonight. instead of finding something for him, i found four cds for myself. let me mention that these were all used and at fantastic prices.

all in all, hastings is the place to go to find compact discs.
but, when in doubt, use amazon when shopping for me. HINT HINT HINT.

bought a slr off of chegg. it is not digital but i don't mind. it's a nice camera and decent to use. i was going to bring it with me to chicago but i didn't want to break it the second i bought it.
that's not a picture i took, it's the one the guy took to post it on the website.

i stayed up all night so i would for sure wake up and now i'm tired and we have to leave soon. NO NO NO NO NO. supposed to rain/snow tomorrow and tonight :(
