j-o-b

so, i got a job at jimmy johnz today. i start tomorrow, haha. at 10am and it will be weird. it took a lot for me to even think about working with meat ever. you know? but yeah, i should probably buy some new jeans since i only have one pair and can only wear jeans or khaki pants/shorts to work.

i don't like shorts so i'll just wear pants, it's nice to have a choice though... right?

oh yeah, worst thing ever

what has this world come to?! funniest things ever about the sex pistols experience:
you have to be over 25 (all of the sex pistols were under 25 when sid died)
you can't be in trouble with the law (how can you be the sex pistols experience and not be in trouble with the law)
you can't experiment with drugs (HA, that is just funny no matter what)
they say on the website that you have to like the music (hahahaahah too bad sex pistols experience is the worst!)

not nearly as newsworthy as lance bass coming out of the closet but still newsworthy enough, right? at least some sort of evergreen story! come on!

hehahrhareheheaheh

funny thing is that matt is wearing that shirt right now. it's actually from Cuba, too.
the house looks nothing like that right now, though.

keep it coming, keep it fresh

so i'm catching up on my purchasing of books. bought invisible monsters by chuck palahniuk for chelsea and i read the first chapter or so before i started feeling weird about reading a book that i bought as a present for someone.

also bought some vonnegut (godbless you, mister rosewater and a man without a country) recently. i got 30 percent off of the vonnegut book and ended up paying about 17 dollars for a new copy at borders (hardcover).

i mainly really want to read a man without a country because of a review i read in the iowa state daily talking about how it was crap, how vonnegut is just a nonsensical old man and he's just writing for himself (duh, idiot, it's his memoirs...) every other review i read about it when it came out was a rave. i guess that is to be compared with my review of antics by interpol where i said that it wasn't worth buying because it was the first album again but with a few interesting points. funny, i downloaded their first album and even own it but haven't listened to it since probably grade 12.

watching old doctor who. matt's golden birthday is soon. hehehehe. finished the mighty boosh. probably the most off the wall show i've ever watched. it's nice being able to find out about these shows.

the 4th was supposed to be a spectacle because of the special olympics, it was kind of a catastrophe and kind of ruined my mood, i don't know why. i was really excited, too.

that's all i have in me right now.

the residents river of crime is reallllly sweeet. "the singing resident" sounds like garrison keillor, which i like. which reminds me of how i want to see that movie. is it out on dvd yet? hmm i don't know.

good day, mates.

ebay scam?

so i was looking at pearl items this morning and came across a few items at .10 GBP and so i was like 'uhh what? these are real pearls...' and clicked the item from this seller and found out that she charges outragous shipping charges to cover the price of the actual item. i.e. one person paid 162 pounds (at the time 304 dollars shipping) for a necklace.

who knew ebay could be so shady? ME. conductivemusic is just as shady in another way. if you remember, i ordered an item (the first annual report of throbbing gristle) from conductivemusic and they told me that they were backed up in shipping, when in reality they never had the item to begin with.

EBAY IS SHADY BUSINESS SOMETIMES :(

doctor who

recently matt and i started watching doctor who (the new version) and it has slowly taken over my thoughts, much like most of the shows we have watched.
currently the television shows we're watching are the following: sex and the city, the wonder years, and doctor who. yesterday one of gavin's friends and i were talking about doctor who and other bbc releases. i told him that i vaguely know about the mighty boosh, the young ones and a few other bbc stuff. i had the mighty boosh on my computer for awhile but my dvd-r drive is still not working (although i can burn cds like nobodies business!) and was not able to put them on dvds.

i actually was really interested in purchasing the two series' but they have yet to release them in the united states. eh, oh well... right?

anyhow... i kind of exhausted my topic. good day for now.

jobs

Yesterday was my last day working for Jo, Jesse's mom, at Durham. I said good bye to the ladies in the back (all but one of them, at least) and they asked me to visit. It made me feel weird that I'd never be going back there again to work.

Today I have an interview at 3pm in Huxley for a job. Plant breeding? I don't know. It sounds interesting. It's for a month (July 10 - August 11) and pays $8/hr (time & a half for over 40 hrs per week).
I guess I kind of hope I'll get the job. Other than that I'll probably apply at the hospital as a transporter, as per mom's request.

trip to the vet and the dancer

i just returned from a trip to the vet with lydia (more commonly known as kitty). she has been peeing outside of her litter box for awhile and although my parents thought it was because she's a little bitch, i thought otherwise after awhile.

i mean, she's grown to not mind the cats. it's not like they actually fight -- just hissing.

it was very surreal going to the vet's office, something i used to do as a child with my parents. they weighed her, she's just under 8 pounds. they gave her a shot and she tried to snip at the vet. they took her in to do a urine sample and brought her back to me afterwards and she just climbed into my lap and wouldn't move. she's never been that affectionate.

in the end, she had a urine infection from her food and her urine had a high pH so i bought new food -- that science diet stuff, she gave me the c/d variety (whatever the hell that means).

now onto another story.

matt and i went to Hastings the other day looking for the sims 2: open for business pack (for him, i don't play video games!) and there was this angst-ridden looking girl (whom, i must say, desperately needed to shower) dancing furiously to some unknown album that was on the “alternative” display. it was straight out of an awkward indie flick. around this time was when i was endlessly curious as to what she could be so into so we waited for her to leave the station and ever so sneakily walked directly by it close to her finishing her angsty dancing. i found out she was listening to the latest offspring album and more specifically, track number three (titled "self esteem") wait, now i see that it's a greatest hits album... even better. i didn't know the offspring had any hits. oh, it says they were the guys that did that pretty fly (for a white guy) song. i guess that was technically a hit.

after that all we could talk about was how we wanted her to get a youtube account and do angst-ridden dances, whilst filming them with her digital camera/web cam, and post them on like our personal favorite weirdo of youtube BeccaBaby (keep in mind this girly girl is 14 years of age while watching these videos -- most of you who will watch these will be endlessly disturbed, i'm guessing. let's just hope her parents never see these... more like, let's be endlessly glad that we're not that crazy to do anything like this)

well, that's all for today.

good day, chaps!

the wonderful world of eBay

I made a purchase on eBay on Monday (June 5th), and let me just mention that this was my first purchase on eBay... I have not received an e-mail about how they are going to ship it even. The person I purchased the CD from lives in DUBUQUE, IOWA... it's Friday... Monday to Friday and no shipment YET.

I sent them an e-mail on Wednesday and they said it was processing... I sent them an e-mail today and asked for a real status.

Seeing as the post office closes at 4.30 I am guessing the other person will not ship it today.
I am about ready to cancel said bid and say to hell with it. I don't want to deal with nonsense. I paid (and they accepted the money) right after I won the bid (it was a Buy-It-Now bid).

All in all, I'm unhappy with said experience.

In better news, I watched Squid and the Whale today and it was really good. Spenser, I think you and Amy would like it since you guys liked Me and You and Everyone We Know. Also, I'm working on that Carnivale DVD.

That is all for now.

oh, i love summer!

This is my drivers license picture, probably one of the funnier pictures of me, in my opinion.

i'm sick

so, i started getting sick a few days ago... i started coughing and yesterday we went to wal-mart and bought robitussin. it was working but this morning i used some mouth wash and then started coughing and so i decided to take some more robitussin. now i have a headache.
all in all, are you not supposed to mix robitussin and that alcohol-free mouthwash.

now i just feel like eating a bagel.
